After all the nerd-love thrown at Mr. Hershiser as 1/2 of “Pitching Magic,” I thought it was time for him to stop sharing the stage.  So step into the spotlight and take a bow, Mr. H.  This effeminate Topps Stadium Club pose is for you.

Amazing. Just when you thought he couldn’t get any nerdier, he manages to look like the love child of Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking.

  2. This is an incredibly nerdy card.

What was Topps trying to do with its Stadium Club line of cards? This is the same set that featured the Eric Show in a hammock card. I guess it was supposed to be their premium line (I remember Stadium Club was expensive), but the wacky photos just made it weird.

Also, is Hershiser in a barn in this photo? Or curled up by the fireplace?

    Also, awesome sweater.

Pure, unadorned nerdiness even without the usual accoutrements of glasses and hat and stuff. Sadly, though, he knocked Manrique out of the top 5, and I don’t understand how that could happen.

  4. Seriously guys, a post may need to be devoted to the insanity that is Manrique falling out of the top 5.

If Manrique isn’t the nerdiest guy on the site, or AT LEAST in the top five, then in my mind, the site needs to be shut down.

  5. I guess we couldn’t reach the 10 vote mark without someone breaking up the perfect game…

  6. The Manrique controversy shows the problem with democracies. I suppose we could convene an ‘assembly of experts,’ minus the whole theocratic autocracy business, and reinstall Manrique to the top 5.

But who would we remove? I don’t get the Tekulve love. Atherton is hogging up two spots, but those are two extremely nerdy cards.
