Another pretty talented nerd. He pitched well into the 90′s– is this the first post ’89 nerd card?
It’s also worth nothing that this is the future of baseball cards. Topps have signed an exclusive agreement with MLB, so other brands (i.e., Upper Deck) can no longer use team names and logos. Nerd Baseball will eventually address this issue directly, but if Upper Deck is now forced to resort silly poses, props, and turtle necks, then this is looking like an unintentionally good move on behalf of MLB and Topps.
In the words of the great Warner Wolf: “Hide that face, Frank!” If only Viola had heeded Wolf’s words.
