Apparently, Mr. Clary now works with the Global Youth Baseball Federation, a non-profit Christian baseball organization. In 2002, he and other former players traveled to Cuba to play baseball and “share the gospel.”

I’ve always thought that the high quality, action-shot heavy 1989 upper deck set began the extinction of the nerd baseball card.
In that light, it’s bittersweet to see them throw us a bone with this true nerd card from the 1991 set.
Instead of defecting from Cuba, he’s a defect going to Cuba.
